It’s Summer 2026 and where have I been?

Well that is a loaded question……

The last time I picked up the laptop to blog has been awhile. During that period, I started focusing more time on my art/creative journey. I still thrifted but not like before – much more intentional versus impulsive. And that is what I wanted to go over in a quick chat…

I took a year off from reselling… Yes a whole year

I decided to do this because of reselling fatigue. Reselling is not for the faint at heart and I may decide to do it down the road part time. It is something I love to do along with styling outfits. The biggest thing that got to me was the amount of items I started to accumulate so I can have my “reselling closet”. Clothes, Shoes, Handbags, Accessories – I had it all. But I slowly started to see that a lot of the things I bought to resell would up in my personal closet. I started to get overwhelmed in both closets because items weren’t leaving as much as before.

One day, I was at home looking at everything and decided I needed a break from it. So I got rid of the items I bought for reselling. Yes, it was a loss on the money side but a weight was lifted on the emotional side. Initially, I missed all of the items. I think I have a great thrifting eye – don’t we all – and so many of them were in really great condition. That means they were ready for someone else to find and put to better use.

“Before you know it, you have more things and less space. Cluttered Space, Cluttered mind.”

As I went through everything, I asked myself – when was the last time I wore this? If it was over a year, get rid of it. Now, I will say, I tried to justify keeping everything so this was hard for me. Eventually I decided to go through items as the seasons came along. It is more manageable to me that way and less stressful. The more I made the decision to either keep or donate, it got much easier. Now that a year has passed, I can look back and reflect so I can learn from the experience and make better choices in the future. After all, it’s just stuff……

Mini Bags

So I am definitely a tote and crossbody kinda gal buut, I saw a couple of mini bag prospects that peaked my interest. Especially in the brights and neon colors. Hey they still work with black so that’s all I need. I also didn’t want to break the bank on them so to Poshmark I went. Found this cute Urban Outfitters neon orange one pictured for 11.00! What a steal of a deal…..

Vintage!

Already wore vintage so this was an easy transition lol. Honestly, I just looked for a few additional pieces to add such as accessories. Will take a cute blouse home if I find one – not gonna lie. A few of my fave vintage pieces are a leather and denim skirt. Both come to just about the knee but have very classic styling so I can wear them for years to come….
