Hi all! I spent the day transitioning to my fall wardrobe, mostly because I wanted to try on different outfits. When it comes to clothes, I am normally classic and vintage. While I love these takes, sometimes I want to try new things. So I looked up some street style looks from Fashion week in New York and Milan. Just to see what was going to be in for fall. One big thing I noticed across the board is individuality. Do your own thing and run with it. Colors, prints, textures, fabric…. make your own rules and create your own trend. Also, more is better! Layering and oversized suits and coats….
Well, this gave me the idea to go into my closet and use a couple of key trend ideas and put my own spin on it. Here are the ones I gravitated towards:
PLAID – This was a no brainer and I decided to combine tweed with it. Oversized is better with a statement sweater or pop of color bag. I think I will try a printed blouse with my plaid blazer too. Also, oversized plaid shirts that can be used as outerwear are a great compromise…
COLOR STORY – Wearing all of one color. Head to toe…I will try this most likely with black lol! Then I will experiment with chocolate brown and oxblood. I also was thinking mayyybeee like a goldenrod yellow? IDK…
LEATHER,LEATHER,LEATHER – Wearing leather on leather is a hit apparently. I would like to thrift a jumpsuit but, right now I have a few leather skirts, jackets and vest. I personally will incorporate leather with the other trends mentioned above. I think that is more of my style. I took a couple of photos of some outfits I tried today below. How did I do? Not bad for the first attempt. Stay tuned for more ideas….
