To any thrifter “buying retail” is like going to the dark side. We just don’t see the point of it. More than ever, people are turning to their local thrifts versus the mall for clothes for the family, knick knacks and accessories. But, there are always a few items that you only buy new, sealed in the package. Not in the thrift. What are your retail essentials? I have made a short list of a few of mine:
1)underwear! I always see it at the thrift and I just can’t. Only new in package for me.
2) Pantyhose… kinda goes with number one. If it is new in package, at the thrift and unborn, I will consider it. Otherwise, no.
3)Makeup/Beauty products – there are a few stores that have new inventory from like Wal-Mart or Kmart but, most of it is used. Germs no.
4) Swimwear – goes with the underwear. Nope.
These are the things I could think of off the top. Now, I know you are subject to germs anywhere so, I disinfect and wash everything before wear. Just a rule of thumb….
